Google has improved their road directions service, Google Maps, with the addition of view of streets of some cities in the U.S. Along with this, several mini-applications can now be embedded into maps as well.

Make Google Maps your maps

New! Create and share personalized, annotated maps of your world.

  • Mark your favorite places on the map
  • Draw lines and shapes to highlight paths and areas
  • Add your own text, photos and videos
  • Share your map with friends and family

Keep track of addresses you’ve previously entered.

  • Google Maps will automatically remember every address you enter
  • You can access or remove these addresses at any time by clicking on the Saved Locations link

The Street View feature places users at the road level, giving them the perspective of drivers and pedestrians and thus offering a deeper and more detailed experience of the location than aerial images provide.

Google plans to add more street views for more cities in the future. On another note lets look at Google’s competitor, Microsoft

On Tuesday, Microsoft increased the number of cities available in 3D in its Live Search mapping site.

I found out about this from its Original Source
